In Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and a radical transformation of the first apostles, we are reminded that it is the fire and love of the same Spirit which sustains our lives, our hopes, and dreams.
Yet in a world of information overload, of noise and endless distractions, how do we hear and connect with the Spirit of God within us? Ignatian discernment, especially through the simple daily Examen prayer, is a way to discern the presence of the Spirit in the moments of our day. Ignatius spoke of the Holy Spirit as touching our soul gently, lightly, and sweetly, like a drop of water going into a sponge, leading to an increase in our faith, hope and love.
An ongoing awareness of the Holy Spirit is nourished by fresh ways of encountering God in our world. One of these ways being offered in June, is IM25 Ignatian Earthing a unique and timely initiative which weaves together Ignatian Prayer forms, ancient Christian wisdom, and the sacredness of God in Nature. Join us as we are enlivened by the Spirit to spread faith, hope and love in the world. |
