As May unfolds, we offer three paths of contemplation: the presence of Mary, whose life continually points us towards Jesus, the Spirit of Pentecost breathing through all things, and the call of creation in Laudato Si’. All inviting us to notice more deeply, and trust how God is moving in us, so we may serve in love.

The month of Mary also shapes this edition through two beautiful reflections by Laetitia Puthenpadath, who explores Mary’s nurturing presence in the life of Ignatius, and the question at the heart of Ignatian spirituality What do you want from me, God?

We continue our imaginative contemplation series We Walk By Faith inviting us to encounter Jesus more intimately through the Gospel stories; and hear from Micheál Loughnane, the coordinator of the Australian Jesuits' Arrupe Program.

And perhaps that is where hope begins. Not in grand solutions alone, but in awareness… in the willingness to see clearly, to take responsibility, to choose differently. Mary Robson from JISA’s Being with God in Nature ministry has recorded an adaption of her much loved reflection.

Ignatius had a deep and tender love for Mary. It seems fitting that she accompanies us as guide and companion, just as she accompanied Ignatius through so much of his life. Laetitia Puthenpadath, spiritual director from Auckland New Zealand, reflects on the role of Mary in Ignatius’ life.

Ignatius’ journey was marked by a deep and growing relationship with Mary, one that continually drew him closer to Jesus. Laetitia Puthenpadath continues her reflections on the role of Mary, now in bringing Ignatius closer to Jesus.
